Rust
Bizarro is brought to you today by Ironing Man.
A reader wrote to me and suggested a cartoon involving Iron Man's difficulty with water and this is what came of it. I'm particularly proud of the art on this one so click on the image and blow it up right big like to fully peruse it. The only thing I used reference for was Iron Man himself, the rest of it was pulled out of the gooey gray gelatin in my noggin. I get excited by being able to draw something particularly convincing right out of my head. Such is the simple life of the simple-minded artist.
It's the weekend, so this is short and sweet.

beautiful drawing, Dan...love the low angle ad the background... perfection...
beautiful drawing, Dan...love the low angle and the background.. dymanic and bold...
Not being able to sketch a straight line myself I was interested to find out that R. Crumb used photos of urban scenes and skylines to remember what the jumble of power lines and whatnot looked like.
Why have I always thought that people who can draw just do it all from their minds eye? Using references (outside of the 6 feet around your desk) isn't cheating.
Iron Man has no water troubles. He often goes underwater in my dreams.
I really like the way this one looks like a Marvel comic panel, yet is still clearly identifiable as Bizarro Art. Well played, sir! Well played indeed!
As Neil Young fans know, rust never sleeps.
This is an awesome cartoon. Pretty damn good drawing of Iron Man, I think.
Most of the time i don't see yer stuff till it's on yer blog… which is for the best. in my local paper the daily strips are the size of postage stamps and in b/w. The color in the sunday strips usually looks like puke (and not the good kind, either). So when i see 'em here all big, bright & beautiful, i gotta marvel at the work you put into 'em. The color on this one is really fantastic. AND IT'S GOSH DARN FUNNY TO BOOT!
haha! your rule!! very nice cartoon! amazing that you draw them daily,, i'm a fan :)
Ok, monsterzero brings a question to mind, what exactly IS, "...the good kind..." of puke? I just HAVE to know!!!
In the same vein, our local paper also takes liberties with the comics pages, and it annoys me that they are so non-chalant about the most important part of the paper.
The ironing is delicious! I bet this one made Stan(the man)Lee smile!
I am a huge fan of Iron Man, and then I saw this in the Sunday comics so I clipped it an stuck it to my dorm room wall because I loved it so much. It's a fantastic drawing...and there's just something ridiculously silly about how dramatic it looks.
