Bulging Artists

Bizarro is brought to you today by Creepy Grandpas.

Roger Clemens and his drug problem were back in the news this week so I thought I'd post my cartoon from this time last year. Yes, that's supposed to be me on the left and yes, I actually do have one impossibly huge and over-developed hand and no, it isn't from too many years as a single guy. (That tends to develop the wrist and elbow muscles.)

In spite of what this cartoon implies, performance-enhancing drugs are not illegal for cartoonists so I can admit without fear of prosecution that I've taken plenty: Ibuprofen, yerba mate, coffee, single-malt scotch, fine tequila, cigars, anti-depressants, and high-cocoa-content chocolate.

Speaking of performance, I just noticed that I neglected to draw the backs or legs for the chairs the characters would be sitting on. That means they're just squatting at the table, pretending they have chairs. That kind of muscle control would not be possible without performance-enhancing drugs, even for a drawing.

Wow. Another not-very-creative comic from Captain Obviouso.

really? is anyone laughing at this?

because the table extends beyond the panel on both sides, i first thought it was another bar scene.

I thought it was a bar scene at first too! Weird.

They could be sitting on tiny stools covered by their legs though.

I had my gall bladder removed a few years ago and I had to stay the night becuase it was bigger than they expected and there was a lot of hemorrhaging. Overnight the IV they placed slipped out of my blood vein and had filled my hand with saline. My hand swelled up to twice the normal size.

My kids were creeped out, but it just looked like I had blown up a glove and stuck it on my hand. Now I know what my hands will look like if I gain 100 pounds.

It's been a while since there was a really good, roll on the floor laughing comic posted, but I continue to look everyday in hopes that there will be a really good one, because there is nothing better than a good bizarro, at least the picture links are generally pretty good.

A snicker, a tee-hee, a chortle, maybe even a huhhuh. Not a laugh, though.

Laugh-out-louds are T-shirt worthy and sell for $17.95 each + S&H. These are free.

WTH people, he's been doing these every single day (EVERY SINGLE DAY) for years! Stop the stupid bitching goddamit, so what if you don't think it's funny. Omnis are annoying.

Who is this anonymous creep and why do they bother to post 2 negative comments. If you are bored here, why not go bother someone else? Oh, no life?

Hey, I think the comic is funny -- give Dan a break. That last link to the steroid photo is downright creepy!

Dan, you know you can set the blog so that you review comments before they are posted. This would save many of us from idiocy on a daily basis. I'm just sayin'. ;-)

At first I thought this was mildly amusing -- but I didn't notice the big hand at first. When I did, I thought it was hilarious. But by far the funniest part was that you forgot to draw the chairs. Too much yerba mate?

Penny, Dan has told us repeatedly that he does not mind being insulted or critiqued on his cartoons but does not want people posting ad hominem attacks such as the last insecure person posting under "anonymous." If he is not even deleting those posts anymore, I highly doubt he will go back on his word and start deleting posts criticizing the daily comics.

Anonymous #3,

Try wrapping your brain around this - perhaps, just perhaps, there is slight possibility that there may be more than one person posting under the name "anonymous"... Crazy talk, I know.
