Stupidly Suspenseful

Bizarro is brought to you today by Therapy.

For readers familiar with the TV show "24," this cartoon is self explanatory. If you're not, Jack Bauer is the preposterous, soap-opera-style hero of the fictional Counter Terrorist Unit of the U.S. government. He is a combination of James Bond and Batman, all wrapped up in the 5', 4", elfen body of Kiefer Sutherland. Bauer gets what he wants by threatening and torturing people, not unlike a Jack Russell Terrier.

In spite of it's myriad inconsistencies, preposterous plots and shameless overacting, or perhaps because of those things, CHNW and I have become avid fans over the run of the show. We never miss an episode, each of which takes several hours to watch as we pause it to laugh at the nonsensical twists.

Thank you for Sean Connery & Adam West versions :D

No dynamite in this one? It seems most appropriate...

I liked that you used Adam West as the Batman reference point. Kudos!

"24" is great comedy, non doubt about it. I'm happy to see so many other people out there think it's funny, too! I used to worry about people taking it seriously. Like, what has happened to Americans if we believe this crap? But alas, it's comedy.

Good comic, too! :)

Oh, how I adore 24 for all the same reasons (though I will admit its mostly for Sutherland's preposterous over-acting and Mary Lynn Rajskub's well-practiced pouting). I'll be very sad when it ends, but will looking forward to its big-screen treatment in 2011.

Completely apropos of nothing, I've always wondered where you find the amazingly weird and wonderful photos you link to your blog. Do you just surf the web until they pop up? Do you keep a file of URLs for future use? Do people send links to you?

They crack me so consistently up, I have to imagine finding all of them would be rather time consuming. I'm glad you do it, though.

There's a serious lack of "Damn it!" in this comic. ;)

I almost stopped watching 24 when Bauer died but resurrected and was running around killing terrorists an hour later, but I decided not to care and just enjoy the action sequences and smirk at the plot.
